How to make a paper airplane

Paper airplanes are fun crafts that you can easily make at home with a sheet of paper. There are many styles of airplanes that you can try to see how far they can fly. More advanced designs can make the plane stay in the air longer and fly farther. Simply take a piece of paper and get ready to start folding it.

Method 1: Classic airplane

STEP 1: Fold a piece of letter-size paper in half vertically, so that it looks like a long rectangle. use your fingernail to flatten the fold in half so that it is marked on the sheet.

STEP 2: Place the top corners in the center of the paper and press the fold with your fingernail to hold it in place. This process is done with both corners.

STEP 3: Take the new top corner of one side of the paper and fold it toward the center to form a long triangle. Run your fingernail along the fold to hold it in place. Fold the other top corner in the same way so that the piece of paper looks like a long triangle.

STEP 4: Use the first fold you made as a guide to make the next fold. Fold the plane in half along the fold so that the triangles you made are on the inside. Slide your fingernail along the fold to hold the fold in place.

STEP 5 Fold the paper with your fingernail. Flip the paper airplane over to make the wing on the other side. Once both sides are folded, carefully unfold them so that the plane lies flat on top.

Method 2: Advanced aircraft

STEP 1: Use a piece of printer or construction paper for the paper airplane. Place the paper on a flat surface and fold it in half vertically to create a long rectangle. Press the fold with your fingernail before unfolding the paper again.

STEP 2: Place the top corners in the center of the paper and press the fold with your fingernail to hold it in place. This process is done with both corners.

STEP 3: Take the top tip of the paper and fold it down to hide the triangles you just made. Place the tip down until it is 1 centimeter from the bottom of the sheet. Run your fingernail over the fold to hold it in place. The piece of paper should look like an envelope.

STEP 4: Take one of the new corners you just made at the top of the paper. Fold it so that the edge lines up with the center fold.aligns with the center fold. Secure the fold by running your fingernail over it. Repeat the fold on the other side so that there are two triangles.

STEP 5: Fold the tip that is closest to the bottom of the paper so that it covers the 2 right angles in the center of the paper. Make sure the fold holds the triangles in place.

STEP 6: Fold the plane in half the opposite way as you did on the first fold. Keep the folds you previously made on the outside so you can see the triangles. Press the fold with your fingernail to flatten it.

STEP 7: Take the angled edge of the plane and fold it in the direction of the fold you just made. Turn the plane over and repeat the fold on the other side to make the second wing. Unfold the wings so that the top of the plane is flat so that it can fly easily.
